RE-VISIT
This
is a
re-visit
that's
been
a
long
time
coming.
Note
that
our
previous
review
was
written
over
four
years
ago.
Over
four
years!
Amazing
that
we've
even
been
at
it
this
long.
Amazing
also
that
we
were
impressed
that
the
AdultBouncer
network
then
had
"over
2100
gigs
of
content."
We
even
said
that
this
was
"a
hell
of a
lot."
Another
warning
to
always
read
the
date
of
the
review,
here
or
at
any
other
review
site.
After
all,
four
years
ago
2100
gigs
of
content
was
a
hell
of a
lot.
So
it's
not
like
we
were
wrong.
Of
course,
nowadays
it
doesn't
seem
so
impressive.
But
this
network
hasn't
been
standing
still
either.
When
we
visited
this
time
they
were
up
to
nearly
10,000
gigs
of
content.
And
that's
very
respectable.
All
that
content
takes
the
form
of
over
1,400
DVDs,
scattered
among
over
830
different
sites.
We
use
the
word
"scattered"
deliberately.
This
is
an
AVS
so
it
doesn't
operate
quite
like
your
usual
DVD
download
site.
In
fact,
the
AVS
networks
were
essentially
the
prototypes
for
the
modern
DVD
download
site.
Which
begs
the
following
question:
Are
they
still
necessary?
Let's
face
it,
the
DVD
download
sites
take
the
same
content
as
you
get
with
the
AVS
networks
(often
with
the
same
watermarks,
and
running
off
the
same
servers)
with
two
big
improvements:
(1)
more
efficient
searches,
and
(2)
no
duplication
of
content
among
different
sites.
And
so
it's
been
a
logical
evolution.
From
Porn
Access
to DVD
Box.
Both
sites
run
by
the
same
people
and
offering
pretty
much
the
exact
same
content.
Only
DVD
Box
consolidates
it
all
in
one
place.
The
same
progression
is
at
work
here.
From
AdultBouncer
to Vixeo.
Both
sites
run
by
the
same
people
and
offering
pretty
much
the
exact
same
content.
Except
instead
of
bouncing
around
over
800
different
sites
to
find
it,
using
a
search
function
that
is
hardly
adequate
even
when
it
does
find
matches
to
your
queries
(the
matches
that
are
returned
are
only
to
sites
that
have
what
you're
looking
forward,
not
specific
clips),
it's
all
in
one
place.
Which
is
why
we
really
like
Vixeo.
It's
one
of
the
best
DVD
download
sites
out
there.
And,
sadly,
why
we
don't
really
like
AdultBouncer.
We
just
didn't
groove
to
the
experience
of
going
through
so
many
sites,
all
differently
arranged,
and
with
different
video
quality
(rarely
labeled).
At
least
Porn
Access
download
pages
have
a
standard
layout.
Here
you
just
never
know
what
you're
getting.
Vixeo
is
so
much
easier
to
use
we're
not
sure
what
the
advantage
is
to
joining
this
network
instead.
Though
you
can
experience
the
network
as
something
like
a
straight
DVD
download
site
by
either
going
to
one
of
the
member
sites
that
most
clearly
imitates
the
DVD
download
interface
(most
notably
the
most
popular
choice:
Degeneration
XXX),
or
by
clicking
on
the
"adult
movies"
tab
in
the
members
lounge
instead
of
"site
directory,"
it's
still
not
as
good.
And
that
lounge
needs
an
update
too.
We
don't
like
those
members
areas
that
have
links
to
both
"logout"
and
to
"sign-up."
If
we
can
logout
then
we
clearly
don't
need
to
sign-up.
We
also
raised
an
eyebrow
at
the
fact
that
the
latest
"news"
bulletin
had
been
posted
. .
.
two
years
ago.
Ouch.
This
still
isn't
a
bad
deal.
There
is a
lot
of
content,
and
the
video
quality
isn't
bad
most
of
the
time.
As
with
Vixeo
two
new
DVDs
are
being
added
daily.
We're
just
not
sure
why
you
would
join
this
network
when
you
can
get
all
the
same
stuff
more
direct
at
Vixeo.

REVIEW
AdultBouncer is an adult verification service (AVS). Rather than being a
single video site, it is a network of participating Webmasters.
And it's one of the better porn values you'll find on the
Internet.
The people at AdultBouncer boast of having over 2100 gigs of content,
which is a hell of a lot. In fact, it's so much you can forget about
downloading more than a small fraction of it within a month with
anything less than a high-speed connection. We're talking about whole
movies here folks--and not just crappy ones either. These are some
of the best movies, featuring some of the best stars. None of the
content is original or exclusive, but the Webmasters
have done a terrific job of selecting and editing. As long as your taste
is pretty mainstream (there isn't a lot of fetish stuff), there is no
way you are going to be disappointed with your membership. Sure there is
a lot of repetition, but the variety,
quality, and quantity of material is very impressive.
About the only thing we really missed was a search engine. This would
be a big plus given the number of participating sites and the fact that
the AdultBouncer main directory is only a very crude guide. We should
also warn those using a modem connection that a lot (not all, but a lot)
of the files are quite large.
Finally, we have to say something about the site's totally inadequate
support. When we had a problem canceling our billing we sent an e-mail
to the address provided. To be fair, the billing problem did not
originate with AdultBouncer, but we thought they could help. Fat chance.
We might have been warned by the way the link they provide from their
own site for canceling one's membership was useless (we always like to
go straight to the billing company's support page anyway, but still . .
. ). In response to our query we received the following message:
** THIS IS AN AUTORESPONDER. EXPECTING A REPLY WON'T HAPPEN AS
** WE DIRECT TO YOU THE PROPER RESOURCE TO FULFILL YOUR NEEDS.
** PLEASE FILL OUT THE PROPER FORM BELOW TO GET ASSISTANCE.
Unfortunately, the illiterate nature of this reply ("expecting a
reply won't happen"?) was only too typical of the rest of the
site's written content. There was, of course, no "form" to be
filled out, and the body of the e-mail consisted solely of the same
links found on the site's support page. In other words: Fuck off.
