If any woman has a claim to be the poster child of porn on the
Internet, it's Aria Giovanni. The Internet launched her career as an
adult model on amateur sites like the now-defunct Busty Amateurs. From
there she was picked up by Penthouse and has since gone on to become one
of the most downloaded women in history.
Expectations, in other words, were high as we came to this site. And
the news is mostly good. The site's focus is on photography. Aria works
with some big names, and even her house sets are high quality. There are
a load of tasteful pics in several categories, including "Artistic
Nudes," "Glamour," "Fetish," "Aria and
Friends," and "Candid." The most interesting of these is
the Fetish section, with photosets by names like Jim Miller (of Bondage
by Request) and Ken Marcus. If you want to see Aria tied up or
wearing odd bondage outfits, then you've struck gold. Also of note
are the Candid pics and video selections. Although there are the usual
tourist shots and pet pics, there's a better than average selection of
Aria too. And she actually looks just as sexy hanging out as she does
all dressed up! Truly a dream girl.
Updates were occurring almost every day. As far as we could tell there were no
"extras" (usually annoying anyway). There was too much of a
commercial presence for our taste (an auction page and video store), but
we suppose a girl has to make (more) money somehow. There were some
fairly big disappointments about the site as well though. In the first
place, Aria doesn't seem to have a really active presence. There weren't
any regular chats. There is a diary (no pics or videos), and a message
board, but who knows how involved she is with those? Secondly, the
site's primary focus on photosets means the video galleries are second
rate. One page of video archives only has the familiar short clips of
Aria stripping. The main video page has around thirty interesting
exclusive and quasi-exclusive clips featuring Aria (behind-the-scenes
stuff, television interviews) but there are no thumbnails to go with
them and sometimes the links didn't work. Meanwhile, the clips
themselves (in Windows, QuickTime and RealPlayer formats, and usually
available in small and large sizes), are only average quality and size
(around 5-10 megs).
They are also pretty tame, which leads us to our final reservation.
Like many professional adult models who have made a name for themselves,
Aria seems to want her official site to present a more glamorous version
of herself to the public. As a result, there is no hardcore action here.
In fact, there isn't even much in the way of insertion (fingers, dildos,
etc.). The girl-girl sets are more pretty than erotic. As noted, the
fetish material is good, but it's also rather cold (like a lot of
bondage stuff, in our opinion). We really missed the nastier, more
explicit Aria. The glamorous, artistic Aria is fine, but necessarily
limited. There are only so many ways of presenting solo sets of the same
model. As a softcore model site, this is one of the best we've seen, but
we would have liked something a little more gonzo or dramatic.
Aria has lots of high quality galleries, but this site
is disappointing
in its video selection and generally vanilla content.
