What do we mean when we talk about fetish? It's usually taken to mean
some departure from the norm, but the nature and extent of that
departure may vary, as well as our definition of the norm. Lovers of the
large nudes found in the paintings of Rubens (yes, this is a porn review
that talks about Rubens!) would now be described as having a fat fetish.
At one time shaving was considered a fetish, but it is now so
widespread, even among men, that the fetish is for hairy women.
When photographer Ashley Fontenot describes her site as "fetish
erotic photography" she is
using the word with something of its original meaning, referring to the
talismanic properties of certain objects, in particular clothes. Fetish
here means fashion, and the emphasis is definitely on glamour. While
there are a number of big names on display here, including Jana Cova,
Masuimi Max and Aria Giovanni, it
seems as though the real stars are
the clothes.
The main bent--and since this is a photographer site product of a
personal vision it's important to be aware of these things--seems to be
toward retro fashion, with lots of classic-era underwear, corsets,
stockings, and heels. The atmosphere is a sort of noir-chic, with
the girls looking rather moll-fatale in their make-up, posed against
what are usually dark settings and sometimes even photographed in black
and white. The material is all softcore, with some tame girl-girl
posing. The clothes and the pose are the important things, and Ashley
doesn't go in for anything very explicit or bother with any close-up
crotch shots. If you just want to stare at pussy, keep surfing. Though
it's good at what it does, this is a limited site in terms of what you
are going to get and not for everyone, so be warned.
Site design is clean but dark, which fits the alternative fetish tone. The pics
were nice and big, though without a lot of variety within sets. Updates
are occurring at least three
times a week. Our major criticism was that when we visited it still
seemed to be a work in progress. When we dropped in there were over 130
photo sets and 36 models appearing on the site, though the model index
wasn't fully set-up with working links yet. Right-clicking on some pics
got us an error message. Video is still on the way. While there is
a nice personal touch throughout (the blurbs on the different models are
good, and Ashley even has some glam pics of herself), there isn't much
happening in the way of extras.
Given time this could develop into one of the better personal erotic
photography sites out there. For now it is just a promising start.
