You have to ask yourself when the porn industry is going to get it.
Every week we check out amateur sites that amaze us
with how much can be accomplished with only a little extra effort, imagination
and technical know-how. Meanwhile, the pornstar and major studio sites
put out inferior work that is usually just an attempt to cash
in on a name.
The official site of Briana Banks is typical in that it isn't
terrible but also isn't trying very hard. For starters, Ms. Banks
herself seems to have a limited presence. Chats are very irregular.
Her "daily diary" had only been updated once in the past
month. Her latest "video diary" entries (Briana at industry
events) were nearly two years old. The "Ask Briana" section
had one link that went straight to an adult news feed. The sex advice
was skimpy and generic (Is swinging OK? Well, that's a tough one, etc.).
But these are just extras anyway. What about what we came in for?
The pic selection is skimpy and doesn't seem to be growing
very fast. In the Fetish area, for example, there are only three sets,
none of them really fetish in our book (smoking, in a car?). Quality is
pretty low throughout, especially in terms of lighting. Over half of the
Hardcore sets (and there were only 14 in total) were ones we had seen
before. Behind-the-scenes shots consisted almost entirely of pics of
Briana getting her hair done. There were only 10 glamour sets. You get
the point. There are amateur sites out there that add this much content
in a month. And BrianaBanks.com has been online for almost two years!
Site design wasn't very helpful, maybe because it was meant to
disguise the fact that there isn't very much Briana. The Video section,
for example, has a "live sex" page of feeds, another page of
streaming feeds, masturbations (only 7 of which feature Briana), and
hardcore scenes from some of Briana's movies (i.e., not
necessarily starring Briana, and not material being shot exclusively for
this site). Video files are quite large, but there are no thumbnails or
descriptions to go with any of them. Quality is only barely average, and
is further diminished by the floating titles typical of this group. In
addition, there were a number of technical glitches such as 404 errors
and interrupted downloads.
If this were an amateur site we would only give it an average rating.
But for a name pornstar to be throwing this out to her fans--and at such
a premium price!--is unacceptable. This is another sub-par corporate pornstar site. Even
fans will be disappointed.
