(Note: Since we reviewed this mini-network, Vanessa
James left and is now out on her own. We didn't think she added much to
the package anyway. We haven't seen her solo site.-Eds.)
This site is one of a group of four amateur performers who go
together as "the 441" (that's four sites for one
membership, hence four-for-one). We've lumped them all together in this review
because they have a lot in common and if you buy one you get them all anyway.
We'll start with what they have in common. The girls are a bit
"exotic" (read: ethnically mixed, and/or tattooed, and/or into
fetish). Three of the four have regular cam shows, live chats and voyeur
cams. All do
the lesbian thing (frequently with each other--they often appear on each
others' sites, with Candice Diaz teaming with DragonLily and Eve Navarro
taking on Vanessa James), but the majority of the content you'll see is
solo masturbation--which is typical of "cam girls" because
that is the nature of most cam shows. Site design is clean and simple, with a pull-down
navigation menu as part of a top frame. Each site has photo and video
galleries along with some basic extras like Friends, Bio/About, live
feeds, diaries, and a member-exclusive 441
chat schedule. Across the 441 there is some kind of action/update
happening every day.
(As a note, we should add that membership in the 441 sites also
gets you
into XXXotics.com, which is the home of adult photographer Kelly Michael
Charles Lind. That site is not reviewed here, but it is quite a bonus.
Really this deal is a 5-4-1.)
In alphabetical order (by name), here's the Fab Four (external links
to their individual sites):
Candice
Diaz (a.k.a "Sweetest Candi"): a Latina hottie whose site
is the best of the bunch. Candice, or Candi, has been at it since April
2003. There were 34 videos in the video section and
120 galleries of pics (not including the behind-the-scenes stuff). The
earlier video had a bit of a camshow look to it (fixed camera, no
production to speak of), but was OK. The later stuff is very
professionally produced indeed (credited to "KGB"--they
do good work).
These clips were around 5-10 minutes each and played back at 700 kb/s (that
is for the highspeed clips, you can also download low res versions). The
production values were top notch. If anything we thought they were a bit
over-produced, with changes in film colour, weird filters and
lighting, and even playing around with the focus. Background music
rather than natural sound,
unfortunately. One video even used--and credited!--a song by Nine Inch
Nails. We'd been wondering what happened to them. Now we know.
The pics are good quality. Not supersize, but
professionally done. Content is mostly solo and toy-play, but you get a
bit of everything. Candice does a lot of girl-girl work
with DragonLily. She is not allergic to cock though (unlike some of her
friends), and six of her
movies involve boy-girl hardcore. As for extras, you get a page of very nice
wallpapers and some excellent behind-the-scenes pics and video. Don't miss those.
Candice
also has a voyeur cam set up and does cam shows. 20 of the best of these
are archived (streaming). The site is updating with
exclusive Candice Diaz content about every 3 or 4 days (so twice a week).
Overall this is a very nice amateur site and a better than average
production across the board.
DragonLily
(a.k.a., "Tattooed Asian Sex Bomb"):
please note that we
don't put a space between Dragon and Lily. DragonLily insists that her name is
to be spelled as all one word. She also describes herself as "Not a porn whore, just a fetish slut."
Where do you go from there?
DragonLily is the superfreak of the bunch. In her own words she is an
ethnic "mutt". Born in Hawaii of Asian stock, she's got
crazy tattoos over most of her body and some freaky piercings to go with
them (the one through her lower lip stands out). Added to this is the
fact that she has a full fetish repertoire. Her sets include a lot of
freaky machine/bondage stuff done with the gang who do Fucking
Machines, Water
Bondage, et al (both sites she has appeared on). Unfortunately,
for some reason she seems to draw the line at cock. No boy-girl action
here.
Like the other girls, Lily also does a lot of cam shows and chats. She
also has a strong personal presence. She keeps a sort of diary--updated
occasionally but not as regularly as we would like--called "Nonsense".
There is a page of personal joke photos she calls the "Dorky Dose
Archive". There is a bio and a bunch of bio video clips. Like Candice Diaz
her site also includes a lot of behind-the-scenes
material.
Unlike Candice, her video is all streaming. Groan. Could we
just stop it with the streaming video? It doesn't give you a big picture
or a good picture and you don't even get to keep it. What's even more
bizarre in this case is that we found one dreamy video of a lesbian
tryst between Lily and Candice Diaz that we could only view as a stream
at DragonLily's site, but could download at SweetestCandi. How odd is
that?
There were just over 100 "naughty clips" in Lily's video
section when we dropped by. Some lesbian, but the overwhelming majority
are solo toy-play and masturbation. A lot of the earlier ones just look
like cam shows--28 more of which, clocking in at around an hour in length
each, can be viewed as streams in a cam show archive.
Eve
Navarro (a.k.a. "Naughty
Squirter"): Eve is a Filipina-Latina cross whose special skill is .
. . squirting! We mean she can really chuck a load. We're still
wondering how she managed to blast it all over her face in one video.
Forget about those arguments over whether female ejaculation is a myth,
we're just talking basic hydraulics.
68 galleries of pics. 40 solo. These weren't up to the quality of
stuff you see in Candi's and Lily's sites. A lot of them are hotel room
pics, few show any special production or professionalism (though there are
a couple of good professional sets by Lind if you look hard). The
average sets also tend to be smaller (420X640 stuff).
37 videos, and these can be downloaded (wmv format, your
choice of downloads for cable or modem connections). Looked like eight
of these had Eve squirting. The "Squirt of all Squirts" video
is where she gives herself a facial. Eve also works a lot with
others--including taking some cock and giving blow-jobs--so there isn't
the same emphasis on masturbation. Video playback quality covers a lot
of range, from 350 to 700 kb/s. Even the high resolution stuff isn't
that well produced however. Settings are minimal (da couch, da bed) and
there is little editing or camera movement. It's often like watching a
high resolution cam show.
Speaking of which, Eve has a regular cam show schedule. There was
only one past show in the cam show archive (a threesome with Eve, Candi
and DragonLily).
Vanessa James
(a.k.a. "Vanessa James"): poor Vanessa. Not only does she seem to be the sole
piece of white bread floating in this ethnic stew (albeit she does have
some wild tattoos), she also has the
smallest and least impressive site. 13 videos, all solo and girl-girl
action, and all streaming RealPlayer video. Ugh. Vanessa was also
the only one of the 441 girls not doing a live cam (though this is
apparently coming soon). And yet there was a
link on the top menu to "Past Cam Shows". Curious. When we
clicked on the link we got a message saying "Your Are Not Authorize
[sic] To View This Page". Well, duh.
Photos are average looking. Divided into solo, fetish (don't get too
excited, only 6 galleries here and it's not that freaky), and girl-girl.
There are also 37 galleries of "Features" (other girls). All
of the 441 girls have a Friends section like this, but Vanessa's is the
biggest.
Bottom line? The 441 is a good deal. SweetestCandi has the
best stuff, so if you like Candice Diaz you'll be very happy. Watch out
for the streaming video with DragonLily and Vanessa James. Aside from
that, they are solid sites as well. Eve Navarro's picture and video
quality isn't as professional as Candi's, but her site is still pretty good.
