| Review:
This is a review of our fourth re-visit to this site. In part this is
because we are big Jenna fans (honest!). But mainly it's because the site keeps
changing. And not, as we are unhappy to announce this time around, for
the better.
When we first inspected this site, we were
underwhelmed. The videos
were below average (fuzzy with floating titles) and, worst of all, you couldn't even download and
save the pics. After that (and in response to some pretty ferocious
criticism on the Internet), there was a change for the better. Club
Jenna became one of the better professional pornstar sites on the
Internet (a distinction that means less than being one of the better
amateur sites, unfortunately).
There are some nice extras. The site features sections ranging from
sex tips and advice to information on cosmetic surgery. And if what you want is just Jenna, Jenna, and more Jenna, the news is
pretty good. Club Jenna has a wide selection of exclusive pics,
including a number of very good glamour sets. Jenna experiments with different looks quite a bit, but you
should be able to find plenty of stuff you like. To be a little
critical: a lot of the sets are pretty unimaginative, and too frequently
overexposed. You get the impression nobody has gone through and tried to
select the best pics from any session.
And there still needs to be more. A lot more. The site in its current
incarnation puts far too much emphasis on Jenna's "friends".
There are also way too many "Jenna as Jenna" sets featuring
lousy pics of Jenna on vacation or at public events, etc. Very few of
these pics even have Jenna in them. This is one area where things are
really going downhill. As for more fetish and hardcore, our main
criticism of the site since its launch, you might as well forget it.
The videos, including a video diary and "masturbation
of the month," are below average in terms of size and resolution,
though usually professionally produced, and quite long. Someone needs
to take it easy with the editing, but otherwise it's acceptable. But
again, the emphasis is falling more and more on softcore and appearance
stuff with very little raunch. And here is the worst of the new
developments: None of it is available for download. You can only view it
as a stream. If you only have a modem connection you are totally out of
luck, as there are only a few videos that can be streamed via
dial-up.
As this site continues to "expand" by getting away from
Jenna and adding more and more "extra" content there is a
growing video section featuring other streaming vids. But who cares?
That's not what you joined for.
There are also regularly scheduled
chats and frequent updates. Site design is pretty simple, though the
links sometimes take you to unexpected areas. There are still no
thumbnails to go with the videos. Really, for an outfit as big as this,
this is simply unacceptable. Put some effort into it, folks.
All of the minor criticisms we had the first time we dropped by
remain. The monthly rate is way too high. Jenna seems to be a disappearing presence. Hardcore is a rarity.
Many of the "Jenna as Jenna" photos and "Behind the
Scenes" videos have only a limited amount of Jenna as well. The
vast majority of updates are of Jenna's "friends",
which means less of what you want to see (a Jenna update only occurs
maybe once a week). The "Fetish" galleries are also pretty skimpy, and include
a number of photo sets that are only borderline fetish and probably not
going to appeal to very many people. The bondage pics from Jenna
Loves Pain, for example, are of surprisingly low quality.
Club Jenna has a fair bit of Jenna content. Unfortunately, Jenna still fails to deliver
with enough of the hardcore and fetish material and appears to be
growing less personally involved in the site as time goes on. The
absence of downloadable videos really takes the site down. This may be
one of the best sites we've ever given a "disappointing" grade
to, but there's no denying it's a disappointment (especially at this
whopping price). Jenna can do a lot
better.
