French-e-girls is the official site, or one of the official sites
(more on that later), of French erotic photographer "Rafik." (We know nothing about
Rafik, aside from his being based in
France. His home page (www.rafik.com) isn't
much help either.) Oddly enough, for such a homemade job, French-e-girls doesn't provide any personal
information. And so on to the review. The photography itself is pretty good, but before we get to it . . .
At the risk of seeming negative, we'll start with what we
didn't like. The presentation is awful. There is a really crude design, with
wild spelling and grammar
throughout. (OK, it's French--but so is Explicite,
and the English is a lot worse here. Anyone knowing what "fingers
intromissions" is supposed to refer to can give us a shout.) There are tiny pictures of girls
floating around the main pages that almost look like clip-art. The members section reproduces a full
page of links on
how to Join Now. Navigation is not easy, in part because of the rotation
system the site uses. New members may not understand why "Les Girls"
have different "Series" and
"Scenes". Answer: Not all of a girl's different
"scenes" are available at one time. Some of them "come
back" on a rotation basis. You can only search for sets from a
general model index. So, for example, if you want to see a peeing set
you're going to have to go looking. Another weird aspect of navigation was
the fact that, "For the moment," we could
only access the video page from the News page. Also somewhat confusing
was the rather heavy emphasis
throughout on material that is "coming soon" (as opposed to
"NEW!!!"). Again, this is
because of the rotation system. As a general rule we don't think this is
a good idea. Many sites will tell you what's coming next week, but
that is as far as it should go. Otherwise the members menu starts to
seem like a tease.
If you haven't been put off by all this, what about the stuff you
came in for?
As the promo material testifies, there are more than 120 models, in
more than 150 scenes, with 18,000 pics. The pics come in one size, which
is decent but not supersize (check the samples). The content is quite
distinctive, and might be classified as
hardcore solo. In other words, "les girls" do everything you
could imagine doing to themselves. In particular there is a lot of toy
play (vaginal and anal) and an emphasis on gaping (a.k.a. "butthole distention and pussy
dilation"). No cock: These girls are strict vegetarians. As noted, the site rotates its content as well as
adding fresh new sets to the mix with weekly updates.
The video section is still new, and like most studio sites
specializing in photography they aren't that impressive. When we visited
there were 14 videos, 1-2 minutes in length each. There was also a warning on the
video page saying "Videos are new so you may encounter some problems or
difficulties//
They Should Be Streaming But I Am Not Sure It Works." Since they can all be downloaded we didn't bother seeing if
they would stream (and don't know why anyone would try). They
feature the same content as the pic sets and are reasonably well
produced (lighting, camerawork), but only average in terms of their
technical quality. You won't be needing a bigger hard drive.
We should point out that Rafik has two other sites, featuring what
appears to be more of
the same stuff (they even have the same exact same promotional quotes,
cut-and-pasted from French-e-girls). These other sites are Sweet-e-girls
and Girl-e-girls (external
links), offered as a
joint package when we visited.
There is some good content here, and a fair bit of it, but the presentation (in
terms of pic size and formats available, not to mention site design) is below
the major European studio sites (like Explicite
or the
Hegre Archives). A total redesign would be a big help. The rotation
system is unfortunate, and doesn't help with the already confusing menu.
The niche being served (solo girls opening wide) is pretty specific, so
we recommend it mainly for fans.
