What is it with English dommes? Or, to put it another way, if you're a guy looking to get your ass whupped, what makes you associate such a fetish with England? Does a British accent make the domination seem more authentic? The English Mansion (formerly The English Dungeon) is probably the best exclusive femdom site out there (at least that we've seen). And Lady-Sonia.com, the official site of "Britiain's premier fetishist," is running a very close second with an awesome video collection of her own.

Now we're sorry to write such a long review, but it's a big site, with archives going back over five years, and we want to give you a full tour. So here goes. 

The site is organized around a bunch of different theme areas. As soon as you get inside the members area you are given four choices: the "Lair of the Masturbatrix" (which is the main Lady Sonia members area), Bitchy Boss, Fetish Video Empire, and Fetish Office. The last three are quasi-separate "complimentary" sites under their own domain names but our impression was that they were mainly just bonus content. There's quite a bunch of material, some of it non-exclusive, that they've tossed in here. But make sure to check it out, as there is some stuff you shouldn't miss. Here's a quick run-through:

Fetish Office: 27 full Bizarre Video fetish DVDs for you to download (stuff like Dresden Diaries, etc.), along with a page of nice exclusive amateur clips. Sweet!

Fetish Video Empire: 24 videos of Lady Sonia and Mistress Red, mainly strap-on action, sometimes with each other and sometimes with a male slave. We weren't sure why this was a separate area and not part of the main Masturbatrix site.

Bitch Boss: basically this just seemed like a big archive of photo galleries of various dommes along with some stories. We found it kind of disappointing, though at least it stays on niche.

OK, on to the main Lady Sonia area.

Which is, in turn, divided into a number of sub-sections.

Premier Video Library: which is, in turn, divided into a number of sub-sections:

(a) Perverted Nurse, Doctor and Medical: 13 movies, many in several parts. Lady S. wears a short white lab coat and uses a lot of suction-type devices to "milk" guys strapped to medical beds.

(b) Lady Sonia's DVDs: two full DVDs available for download (90 minutes each).

(c) Boss Lady and Secretarial: 45 movies, many in several parts. This area doesn't stay strictly on theme very well. Sometimes she's sitting at a desk, but the "boss lady" might be a personal trainer at a gym or just a sexy bitch.

(d) Equestrian and Jodhpur: 35 movies, many in several parts. Some of this stuff is shot around a stable, and she does play horsey a bit and wears jodhpurs. But real ponyboy fetishists will be disappointed. It's not like that.

(e) Lingerie, Gloves, and Fetish Lingerie: 13 movies. Kind of a grab-bag of stuff.

(f) Latex: 17 movies. Wearing tight clothes.

Some comments on the video section: there's a lot of it and it's quite well produced and presented. You get a good selection of different file types: low-res mpegs and RealMedia clips, or high quality Windows Media files. The premium stuff was 400x300 and 1300 kb/s, which looked pretty darn good. The low-res movies were 320x240 and 900 kb/s, and they weren't bad either. You can download scenes as a bunch of one-minute, 10-meg clips, full files, and sometimes even as an in-between mid-sized option too. Each clip also comes with a very full series of vidcaps (hey, why not?).

Photo Galleries: this area has production photos from all of the videos, so it's divided into the same sub-sections only instead of a DVDs section there is a "miscellaneous" section. The photos are nicely reproduced and look sharp at 800x1000. And there are a LOT of galleries. Maybe as many as 100,000 pics.

Classic Video Library: a bunch of older video from Lady Sonia's "college days." Which were, according to the dates given, sometime around 1995. Did British women have big hair in the mid-90s? Looks suspiciously mid-80s to us. Still, this was pretty interesting. Sort of like amateur fetish home videos. A nice annex. Video quality isn't as good though.

Journal: looks like it's being updated weekly. Not private thoughts on what's going on in her life, but fantasy stories featuring Lady Sonia in the starring role. Goes all the way back to 2001.

Lady Sonia Interviews: six interviews that Lady Sonia has done with other dommes. Quite in-depth and interesting, if you're looking for that extra bit of insight into the femdom mind.

The Study: says that it's "My personal collection of interviews, thoughts and reflections on the more 'edgy' and 'more exciting' side of sex." Actually it just seems like a bunch of fantasy stories, accompanied with some more pics.

Wallpapers: six of them. Can't say we were that impressed with these. They're just six photos of Lady Sonia, all from the same set, with the words Lady Sonia in small print in a corner. You'd be just as well off saving any of the images you see in the photo galleries and setting them as your background. But hey, we're talking about the wallpapers here. Tell us you were going to click on this section anyway.

Fetish and BDSM Stories: not just some shit they grabbed off of usenet, but stories featuring Lady Sonia as a character.

PennySummers page: apparently there was a production studio/site called Penny Summers that specialized in UK amateur video. According to a note here they owed Lady Sonia some money and when they couldn't pay she took possession of their video vault (better than letting her fuck them up the ass with a strap-on, we guess). Now she's offering it all up here. Nice extra! Over 30 20-minute clips (around 120 megs each for a full file, or you can download them in two parts). Lots of hardcore action. There's nothing femdom or fetish-y about it, but it is quite a bonus.

OK, time to try and wrap this up.

Compared to The English Mansion: better video quality and more personality, but less nasty and more limited in the range of fetish action you'll see.

Lady Sonia herself is great. We couldn't get enough of how far her nipples stick out! Our only quibble was that she doesn't always talk that much. You do get verbal abuse in some movies, but a lot of the time she stays silent. Of course she styles herself a "masturbatrix", which means she mainly does a lot of teasing and handjobs. She doesn't actually fuck anyone (except with a strap-on), or get her pussy eaten, etc. There's some corporal punishment and CBT, but not really rough stuff. No watersports, aside from the extras. In other words it's kinky, but doesn't get scary violent.

The navigation is better than for the Mansion, but that isn't saying much. We thought they maybe went overboard with some of the different categories they came up with here. Really, there's very little difference between the kind of content you're going to see in Boss Lady, Lingerie, and Equestrian. Even the clothes are the same a lot of the time.

OK, it is expensive. The kinky stuff is always expensive, especially when you're getting exclusive content. But this is still a really generous site and we think it's worth it. We weren't expecting to get stuff like the Penny Summers video, the Classic Video archive, the original stories, the Lady Sonia DVDs (most performers make members buy those through a site store), and all the extras in the complimentary sites (especially the Bizarre Video DVDs you get in the Fetish Office). But it's all there. And with the daily updates, seven days a week, Lady S. is having no trouble keeping it coming. 

Bottom line: this is a great site for femdom fans with a huge archive of high quality content and we have no reservations about recommending it.
