Lightspeed18 is a little different than the average porn network--and
a lot harder to explain.
Most networks try to provide a niche buffet, giving you a MILF site and
a big tits and an interracial site, etc. The thing that first strikes you about
Lightspeed18 is that it's a collection of very similar sites. This is
mainly because all of the sites are
(ostensibly) the work of one guy: Steve Lightspeed. So what you're being
offered here as a network is the "Entire Lightspeed Collection In One
Place!"
Or so it says. But it actually isn't. Keep reading the review because
this gets confusing.
But first off: What defines Lightspeed content? Softcore American teens.
Nothing nasty. It is a voyeuristic, innocent gaze. A really
healthy dose of schoolgirl/cheerleader upskirt, panty fetish stuff. If
schoolgirls in cotton panties--not thongs!--are your thing then this network
has you covered.
The photography doesn't have any particular style, but Lightspeed knows
what he likes and he just keeps grinding it out. The content is all
exclusive, of average quality, and very much of a piece.
Site design tends to be quite a mess. Lots of advertising. You get
hit with an ad right on the main splash screen. If you choose the Exit
option you go to another ad. Even the members-only Lightspeed Community bulletin board has ads
on it. Then there are all the ads for "bonus sites" in the
main members area. This makes everything too cluttered. It takes a while just to find the video
section.
Lightspeed18 comes with 10 full sites. Across the network the picture quality is
OK (though like we said,
not stylish), and the video just adequate (a mix of wmv and RealPlayer
formats seems consistent throughout). Content is almost all softcore fooling around. Yes, Tawnee Stone does suck a
cock in a couple of videos, some of the cheerleader girls get fucked, and the sorority girls play with
dildoes, but
there is nothing extreme about any of it and the hardcore is not
emphasized.
It's our guess the "18" is mainly meant to suggest the idea
that these girls are all supposed to be barely legal. How they come up
with "18" sites is a little tricky. These are the sites you

Now, in addition to these sites you get "preview content"
from a bunch of other Lightspeed sites. And when they say
"preview content" they don't mean much. You get a very
small taste of each. Sometimes just a gallery.
But if these are Lightspeed sites, how then is
Lightspeed18 the "Entire Lightspeed Collection"?
Confused? You should be. We'll try to explain.
The thing is there are a bunch of
different Lightspeed networks that you can join. There is Lightspeed18.
Then there is Lightspeed
Girls (external link), which is a network of individual Lightspeed performer sites (again headlined by Tawnee Stone,
who anchors all of the Lightspeed networks). The monthly rate is
Lightspeed's usual hefty $39.95. The sites you get are (external links

so don't be surprised if they have even more names when you visit.
Now if you
put Lightspeed18 together with Lightspeed Girls, you get . . . Lightspeed
World (external link)! But no! Lightspeed World is a
"build-your-own" network deal: You pick ten sites from the
Lightspeed system for your monthly membership. Or you can pick a package
of five sites. Or three.
This is certainly
innovative, but it can also be confusing. Also confusing is the way you
can get a membership to any individual site and then get discounts to
other Lightspeed sites if you stay for a month. Then there's the price. When was the
last time you saw a 14-day trial? Uh-huh. Us too. And a $24.95
trial at that. We can't figure it out. It's apparently meant to be
somewhere in-between a full-monthly membership and a week trial, but it
just struck us as being bizarre (and expensive).
With all of the different bundles and
packages and trial rates being offered across this network, we couldn't
help getting the feeling that some of it was meant to be confusing. Here's
what we take away from all this as the bottom line:
(1) If you like this kind of niche content, go with a Lightspeed18
membership. If you join at the trial, take note of the fact that it
rebills at a very expensive monthly membership.
(2) If you like the individual Lightspeed Girls, and there are a lot
of them now, then Lightspeed Girls gets you all of their separate sites.
Since we like individual performer sites better, and since there isn't
enough variety and personality with this network as it is, we like this
package. It is pricey though.
As we began by pointing out, the great charm with this network is
that so much of the content is the same. The Lightspeed Girls, the
cheerleaders, the sorority lesbians, the upskirt galleries--it all caters
to one taste. And if the sight of plain cotton panties stretching over
teenie bottoms is your thing, this network is the garden of delights. It
is not, particularly, our thing, but from talking to other
people, surfing bulletin boards, and reading other reviews, there's no
denying the fact that Lightspeed is pushing a lot of the right buttons.
God knows if you're looking for an alternative to all those artistic
photography sites of super-skinny
Eastern European teens and just want some natural American sweeties to
look at, there is no real alternative. This is Lightspeed's niche and he
owns it. Given the amount of exclusive
material, and the undeniable fact that a lot of these girls are real
stunners, we're not going to argue with the fans.
On the other hand, the network's strength is also its weakness. If
you don't have a panty or upskirt fetish, and "teens at play"
isn't your thing, then you should take a pass. That's all Lightspeed has got. There are a lot of different sites in the full network,
but not that much variety. A Lightspeed Girl goes to Lightspeed
University where she (naturally) becomes a cheerleader and joins
Lightspeed Sorority, etc. etc.. But really, how many different softcore cheerleader sets
can you look at? (If you want to test yourself on that one, try
Lightspeed University.) That the content is so interchangeable makes the
marketing strategy, with its various membership bundles, almost beside
the point.
Overall we'd say this is a very strong collection of exclusive
material featuring some great girls and years of content. We wouldn't
give it our highest rating mainly because of the price, which is a real
buster. It's still worth it though if this is your niche.
