APRIL 2006 RE-VISIT
Wow. Here's a re-visit we've been looking forward to.
One of the best-known and highest-regarded sites on the Internet, but
it's been almost three years since we got a chance to look around.
Apparently they've just done a re-design, which gives us as good an
excuse as any.
So
let's
talk
about
what
counts.
There's
no
denying
this
is
an
all-around
terrific
site.
Seeing
as
we
already
had
it
ranked
a 9
(out
of
9)
we
can't
bump
its
score
up
any
higher.
But
it
is
tempting.
In
the
first
place
the
quality
is
top-notch.
Lots
of
professional
models
and
top
photographers.
And
the
fact
that
they
feature
the
work
of a
number
of
different
photographers
(like
Tim
Fox,
Voronin
and
Goncharov)
makes
it a
lot
more
interesting.
There's
not
just
one
style
being
repeated.
The
technical
quality
is
also
excellent.
The
photos
coming
in
large
and
small
versions.
The
small
are
1000
pixel
and
the
large
go
up
to
4200.
The
only
complaint
we
had--and
this
was
the
only
complaint
we
had
with
regard
to
anything--was
that
some
of
the
large
pics
seemed
to
lose
resolution,
making
us
want
to
stick
with
the
smaller
pics
because
they
were
sharper.
The
videos
come
in a
terrific
assortment
of
choices:
DivX
(the
best,
with
up
to
1280x720
playback
at
variable
bit
rates),
mpeg,
QuickTime
HD,
iPod,
and
Sony
PSP.
Most
of
these
run around
10
minutes.
All
are
fully
downloadable
with
no
DRM.
Now
as
we've
said
before
the
video
at
most
photography
sites
leaves
us
kind
of
cold.
It's
all
softcore
undressing
and
posing
with
light
music
playing
in
the
background.
But
still,
there
were
some
nice
moments
here
if
you're
into
the
tease.
As
for
the
amount
of
content,
that's
impressive
too.
This
site
has
been
going
for
eight
years
so
the
archives
are
extensive.
When
we
visited
this
time
they
were
up
to
293,000
photos
and
336
movies.
Given
that
they
update
several
times
a
day
(!)
those
number
will
be
quite
a
bit
larger
by
the
time
you're
reading
this.
But
the
main
page
keeps
a
running
tally
so
you
can
just
check
it
to
see
what
they're
up
to.
With a site this huge navigation is of primary
importance, and we're happy to say that they've done a great job here as
well. Browsing is fast and easy, with smooth functionality and effective
searches. We were also impressed with some of the extras, including
their own in-house cam system that airs six shows a day (each show
running two hours). No question, these guys are really bringing it. The cams are nice,
but more background/biographical info on the girls and some interaction
(sort of like what Nubiles
does) would have been even sweeter. Another thing we were surprised to see they didn't have was a
message
board. This is the result of a conscious decision though, and we can't
really blame them for not wanting the hassle of policing what would no
doubt be a very active forum.
Just
to
summarize:
Great
photography,
great
models,
tons
of
content,
crazy
updates,
excellent
functionality,
and
all
exclusive
content.
It's
a
package
that's
damn
hard
to
beat.
Now
as
we
began
our
original
review
by
pointing
out,
it
isn't
for
everyone.
It's
definitely
for
those
of
you
who
like
your
porn
(sorry!
"nude
art")
classy.
Don't
expect
anything
very
raunchy.
Try Explicite
if
peeing
and
fisting
is
your
thing.
But
if
this
is
your
niche
then
it's
the
gold
standard.
In
fact,
we
would
even
recommend
the
annual
membership.
Yes
$100
sounds
like
a
lot,
but
given
that
it's
a
$30
a
month
site
and
how
often
it
updates
(not
to
mention
the
access
to
the
cam
shows)
it's
actually
a
pretty
good
deal.
Model
Flats
charges
$100
for
only
three
months,
and
they're
not
in
the
same
league
as
this
site.
So
go
ahead,
make
your
year.
JULY 2003 REVIEW
This is a great site, but definitely not for everyone.
The name Met-Art immediately made us think of the Metropolitan Museum
of Art. Maybe it was supposed to. But actually the "Met" part
is an acronym for "Most Erotic Teens." Why the most artistic
porn sites deal so much with young women or teens is an interesting
question. Is it a lingering nervousness over the legality of some of
these girls ("No seriously officer--it isn't porn, it's art!")?
We don't ask such embarrassing questions.
Met-Art is classy. These aren't teenies, they're "nymphs."
The header frame tells you that these are "pictures able to freeze
time and beauty, youth immortalized naturally and uncontrived."
Sheesh. Uncontrived? This is high art, and all art is artifice. Someone
needs to go back to Aesthetics 101.
But moving along. First what we like. This is a really big site with
very high production values and an extremely user-friendly interface.
When we visited there were over 51,000 pics and 120 movies. The archives
go back four years, and there are daily updates. That's a lot of
content. Pics can be downloaded in high-res and low-res versions, with
the high-res photos being the equal of any studio site. Videos come in
four formats, from DivX to RealPlayer. Around 5-10 minutes long, some
were nearly 100 megs. A search function lets you browse the site by
specific model, ethnicity and even breast size. Members are encouraged
to offer feedback, and a Survey page lists fan favourites. Tips and
support were front and center. A "Special" section highlights
featured photographers. A good variety of photographers also makes the
site more interesting by showcasing contrasting styles.
But as we began by saying, this isn't for everyone. For one thing,
this site is very softcore. We mean softcore to the point where erotica
blurs into art blurs into something that just doesn't turn the average
person on. Maybe it has something to do with the whole "teen
nymph" thing, which, when you think about it, is a celebration of
innocence. There are limits to how sexy innocence can be. Expect huge
pics, but don't expect huge beaver shots. In fact, don't even expect
beaver. We went on a pussy hunt through this site and came up with
precious little pink. Of course if you're a connoisseur of this stuff
than you will think you're in heaven. But lots of soft focus, black and
white, silhouettes, and strategic drapery are a definite niche.
While high-quality in terms of picture, the videos are also without a
great deal of heat. Perhaps the language barrier (our guess is that most
of these girls are Eastern European) gets in the way of the models
saying anything, but the action is quite tame, and layered with the
usual lightweight music (no, we won't rant about that again). Navigation
through the movies should have been on one master index, but that was
our only real complaint about the layout.
We give this site a high rating because of the top-rate
production and quality throughout, as well as for its size and consistency.
And it is very honest about the kind of experience it is offering. The
rest is a matter of taste.
