Naughty America is a network of reality porn sites whose motto is "the Difference is Here." In other words, they don't want to be thought of as "just another reality porn network" like All Sites Access or Bang Bros. Network. And they have a point. The main thing that sets them apart is that their individual sites tend to have more of a dramatic theme to them. They aren't just a MILF site and a big tits site and a teen site and so on. Instead, the themes have to deal with certain dramatic situations: sex in an office, teacher-student sex, sex with a friend's mother, sex with a sister's friend, etc.

Now we have to say this is an approach we approve of. We've always held that's what lacking in a lot of today's porn is more of a context to the fucking. It is exactly this context that makes it more erotic. Who cares about simple anonymous fucking, picking a girl up off the street and then taking her back home for sex, all while some idiot comedian provides supposedly humorous play-by-play? It's boring. The episodes in the various sites in the Naughty America network are presented like little movies (even crediting the director), telling complete short stories and actors who aren't just going through the motions but following a script. The girl in the cubicle next to the boss's son who wants to suck his cock to get ahead. The student fucking her teacher for an "A." The boy getting double-teamed by two of his sister's hot friends because they're pissed off with his sister (apparently, given the prevalence of this plot line, this is how you get back at such girls).

So we have to say we loved this fresh thinking. For a number of episodes we just downloaded the first part and watched the set-up. Because that's really where the "difference" is.

Now don't get us wrong. We're not saying these movies feature top-of-the-line production values, compelling scripts, and top-notch acting. They don't. The production is limited to a number of re-usable sets, some of which (especially the classroom used for Naughty Bookworms and My First Sex Teacher) are getting really, really old. The direction is workmanlike at best. There is little editing, with most of the scenes proceedings continuously or semi-continuously. And while the female talent does a terrific job carrying their scenes, the male talent is often left floundering. There are occasional exceptions, particularly when a name swordsman is employed. Joel Lawrence and Randy Spears, for example, show what can be done. But for the most part the guys in these videos seem content to ham it up or otherwise goof off, screwing their lines up or otherwise just acting like they don't really care. They are also look ridiculous in many parts. Are we really to believe that Professor Smith at whatever college is going to take off his tweed coat and show a buff, shaved body covered in tattoos and/or piercings? Please. The teachers should all be older guys, shouldn't they? Some of them look younger than their students here.

There are aspects of the production that are slick and smart. The opening sequences, while they may go on too long for some tastes, are impressive productions in themselves. We even slowed the film down so we could read that term paper that's getting a lipsticked A in the promo for My First Sex Teacher. Stuff like this is very clever. The episodes themselves are done in the same spirit, which is to say they usually try to take a funny approach. Now personally this is not our preference. We would have liked to have seen some of the episodes become a little darker, edgier, even rougher. But there's a consistent attitude here and it's definitely more on the lighter side.

Another thing we have to compliment them on is the quality of the female talent they've got. With a lot of reality sites we look at these days we get the feeling they're really starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel. For the most part, however, the line-up here is stacked with pros. Lots of big name stars in the mix (we were especially blown away by the performance Shyla Stylz gives in her Naughty Office episode), and better-known up-and-comers (Brandy Talore and Eve Laurence), along with some famous names from yesteryear for the MILF sites. Hats off to whoever's in charge of this end of things. And a special note of thanks to whoever made the call to cover up as many of the tattoos as possible with body make-up. Would they could all be so easily erased.

As far as the nuts and bolts go, you can download individual clips or full movies in Windows Media, iPod, or mpeg formats. As of a couple of months before our visit (that is, November 2006) the top stuff was 720x480 and 700 kb/s. Before that you were getting a 480x360 at 500 kb/s, which is just OK. Hopefully they'll start reformatting the older stuff up to the new standard. The episodes also come with a bunch of production stills (that is, photosets that are better than the usual vidcaps). Most of the sites appear to be updating once a week.

Naughty Office (review): good concept, well handled. Lots of different ways the situations here can play out. The boss's daughter (Amy Reid!) fucking the tech support, co-workers banging each other, secretary sucking and fucking to get a raise, etc. Basically fucking on a desk instead of a couch, but it works. And the Shyla Stylz episode (noted earlier) really is incredible.120 episodes.

My Sister's Hot Friend (review): nice idea here too, plugging into a fairly common yet largely unexplored fantasy. A wide variety of situations, and the line-up of female talent is excellent. Just over 100 episodes.

My Friend's Hot Mom (review): pretty standard MILF site, but lots of classic names putting the young bucks through their paces. Nice to see Lisa Lipps even in here, riding the pool boy. And they've even got Nina Hartley putting out (and looking very good, by the way). 120 episodes, with a fair bit of repetition among the more popular moms-- Mrs. (Ava) Devine and Mrs. (Vicky) Vette both clocking in with seven appearances.

Naughty Bookworms (review): used to be called "Bookworm Bitches." Good site, but see our comments above about not exploring the age differential angle more, and the fact that the classroom set is totally played out. 130 episodes.

My First Sex Teacher: decent MILF site, but again the classroom set is past getting old and the concept itself seems exhausted. 130 episodes.

American Daydreams (review): the idea here is that after an initial situation is set up someone falls asleep and dreams of things taking a more erotic turn. Seems like a great concept, but for some reason we just didn't think it was working as well as it should. So maybe it isn't such a great concept. After all, isn't t his "reality" porn? Turning everything into a dream kind of takes the edge off.

Fast Times at NAU: this is a terrific idea that may be just a bit ahead of its time. It's one of the first sites we've seen where the episodes actually form a little miniseries, like episodes from a real television show detailing
