We're
doing
a
re-visit
review
of
this
site
because
. .
.
well,
just
because
the
webmaster
got
in
touch
with
us
and
wanted
us
to
do a
re-visit
review.
Which
is
nice.
But
given
the
fact
that
we
really,
really
liked
this
site
the
last
time
we
were
here
(10
months
ago),
and
it
hasn't
changed
that
much,
it's
maybe
not
entirely
necessary.
So
we'll
try
and
be
quick.
Probably
the
first
thing
to
note
is
that
it
has
grown.
As
we
pointed
out
earlier
(below),
this
was
to
be
expected.
These
guys
have
big
updates
(four
photosets
and
one
video)
every
single
day
(that's
365
days
a
year).
So
now
they
are
up
to
(over)
1500
models,
600,000
images,
and
14,000
videos.
Should
keep
you
busy
for
a
while,
especially
since
it's
mostly
quality
stuff.
Another
big
plus
is
that
there
is
some
content
now
that
is
totally
exclusive.
This
seems
to
be
primarily
coming
in
the
form
of
the
Twistys
Treat
of
the
Month,
which
is a
special
centerfold-style
feature
offering
weekly
exclusive
photosets
and
weekly
exclusive
video
of a
premium
babe
all
month.
Recent
examples
were
Jamie
Lynn,
Lanny
Barbie,
and
Ginger
Jolie.
But
you'll
also
find
other
exclusive
stuff
(or
at
least
stuff
that's
labeled
as
exclusive)
squirreled
away
in
various
places
throughout
the
site.
One
thing
we
would
have
liked
was
a
way
to
search
just
for
this
exclusive
material.
Maybe
they
could
have
a
Twistys
Exclusive
area
(that
would,
of
course,
be
fully
integrated
with
the
rest
of
the
site).
It's
fun
to
make
suggestions
like
this
because
Twistys
solicits
user
feedback
and
is
actually
responsive.
Just
checking
this
site
out
now
we
notice
how
they've
made
a
couple
of
changes
in
the
past
year
improving
things
we
complained
about,
including
giving
models'
full
names
and
getting
rid
of
the
duplicate
Aria
Giovanni
set.
Other
new
stuff:
There's
a
slideshow
feature
so
you
can
go
through
the
pics
with
both
hands
free
and
the
video
quality
is
also
improving,
though
we
weren't
sure
how
consistent
this
was.
You
can
still
expect
to
find
quite
a
bit
of
variation
among
the
videos.
A
lot
of
the
older
stuff
doesn't
cut
it
any
more
(and
they're
just
scenes
burned
from
older
DVDs
anyway),
but some
of
the
newer
movies
look
really
good,
with
playback
of
over
1000
kb/s
and
a
larger
screen
size.
One
thing
that
(still)
really
let
us
down,
especially
coming
from
a
site
that
does
so
much
to
make
the
whole
member
experience
as
friendly
and
helpful
as
possible,
is
the
lack
of
decent
thumbnailing
to
go
with
the
videos.
They
only
provide
one
pic
per
movie.
Since
most
of
the
movies
are
cut
up
into
a
number
of
shorter
clips
(although
you
can
also
download
full
scenes),
we
wanted
to
have
at
least
one
pic/thumbnail
per
clip
to
get
a
better
idea
what
we
were
downloading.
And
they
might
also
give
clip
specs
(file
size,
resolution,
screen
size,
running
time
etc.)
while
they're
at
it.
Just
a
thought,
people!
So
the
bottom
line
is
pretty
much
the
same.
It's
a
great
site.
For
its
niche,
which
is
mainly
softcore,
non-fetish
glam
featuring
top
name
models,
it's
one
of
the
best
buys
out
there.
All
of
the
updates
make
it a
real
value
membership,
and
it's
really
well
presented
and
a
treat
to
browse.
JANUARY 2005 REVIEW
Twistys is a great site at what it does. So let's be clear about what
it does. It's an archive site of professionally produced material, which means it's
basically bringing together a bunch of content from different studios
and providers. Don't expect anything totally exclusive. What you should
expect is (a) lots of content, (b) quality content, and (c) quality
presentation.
Twistys gets high marks on all of these. First, they have lots of
content. When we visited the stats were 1300 models, 553,000 images, and
11,720 video clips. But given the fact that the site is updating with a
lot of new material every day--that is, even on weekends and
holidays--with four new pic sets (250-400 pics total) and a new movie on each update (except
on Saturdays, which are double update days with double the image sets)
these numbers are already out of date as we write them.
So don't worry, there's lots to see.
The presentation is also very good. You're really going to love
browsing this site. The thing about such a big collection of content as
this is that it can be really frustrating trying to find everything
you're interested in. Not here. There is a "power search"
function that allows you to work your way through the model index by
ethnicity, country of origin, hair colour, height, weight (do you want
girls 110-119 lbs., or 120-129 lbs.?), cup size, and Twistys ranking.
These rankings are a story in themselves, as each model can be rated on
their Face, Tits, Body, Ass, Pussy, Legs, and Action (individual photo
sets and videos are also rated by Action, Model, Sexual Variety, Finish,
Image Quality, Lighting and Set). It's all done with slide rules and
playing with it is fun. We just weren't too sure how we were supposed to
rank things like "Finish" and "Action". The other
question we had has to do with the way they identify all the models by
their first name and last initial only. So Britney Skye is Britney S.,
and Veronica Zemanova is Veronica Z. Is this for legal reasons? And
while we're being critical, we also found one set of Aria Giovanni (or,
as she is called here, simply "Aria") duplicated. The
"Boob Bustin Corset" and "Uptown Babe" sets are the
same pics.
The picture galleries are well arranged on thumbnail sheets and can
be downloaded as full sets in zip files. They are all nice and big too, though not always as crystal clear as the best super-size
digital photography you see these days. At times we thought they'd been
enlarged more than they should have been. Still, there's nothing to be
disappointed about. You'll see a lot of familiar names, and some
familiar sets, mixed in with some less well-known models. The headliners
include Zdenka
Podkapova, Tawny
Roberts, Devon, Aria
Giovanni, Veronica
Zemanova, Gauge, Tall
Goddess, Anita
Blonde, Jill
Kelly, Sylvia
Saint, and current Twistys favourite Kyla
Cole.
In addition to all the pics you get over 11,000 video clips as well
(again, with daily updates). These are also well presented, available
for download in all the main formats (wmv, QuickTime and RealPlayer), as
clips or full scenes, and the playback is respectable 320x240 at
anywhere from 400-700 kb/s. Not quite full-screen DVD quality, but it
looks good. One thing we would have liked was more
thumbnails to go with the different clips. As it is you don't get much
of a preview at all, unless you count the streaming version (that starts
automatically--unless you turn that function off--when you click on the
link). We also found these movies kind of a grab-bag, with a little bit
of everything mixed in. The one constant is "babes". No freaky
fetishes or old ladies or midgets. Here are some daily samples:

As for type of content (a.k.a. "Action" and "Sexual
Variety") you can expect a good mix of solo, toy-play, boy-girl and
girl-girl stuff. It all looks pretty glam. Don't expect gonzo amateur
action or anything nasty. It's mostly studio work with professional
models. Think of the work of Suze Randall or Stephen Hicks. Even the
cumshots have a softcore kind feel to them. It's a bit generic at times,
but at least you aren't getting a set of 120 pics where 100 of them look
exactly the same. These guys have standards.
Probably what impressed us the most about Twistys was the dedication
put into maintaining it. The operators are very big on feedback and you
can tell they're putting a lot of hard work into making it a quality
experience. Just the amount of writing introducing the day's updates is
impressive. That's not something they have to do, but it makes a
difference.
